It’s a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long time. As your plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our waiting team will meet and greet you and escort you to your hotel.
Today you have an insightful sightseeing tour in Kathmandu city. Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. There will be a guided tour to Pashupatinath, the most popular Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Boudhnath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. After that you will drive towards Kathmandu Durbar Square which is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards and streets that date back to 12th - 18th centuries. At the square, you will find Hanumandhoka Palace Museum, Taleju Temple, Kumari Ghar (House of the Living Goddess), Kasthamandap and other temples and buildings as old as the city itself. After the tour concludes, your driver and guide will escort you back to the hotel.
Today you drive to the refreshing hill top town Nagarkot (2175m), which is about 30 km away from Kathmandu. From here you can get the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Manaslu and Gauri Shankar. En-route you will stop at Patan Durbar Square for soaking in the architectural wonder of the medieval age of Nepal. You take a walk through the palace Square, and delight in the art and culture of Malla era. Mahaboudha Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple, Krishna Temple and Golden Temple are the major attractions at the square. Then after, you will continue to Nagarkot for some relaxing moments among nature.
Early in the morning, you will enjoy the magical sunrise from Nagarkot, which will be followed by a drive to Begnas Lake. Following the snaky highway trail with beautiful views of towns, villages, river, hills and mountains, you will reach Begnas Lake after 5/6 hours for a restful retreat.
After enjoying the splendor of the lake area adorned with the amazing views of the mountains, you will drive to Pokhara, about 12 km away from the lake. Pokhara, also considered as the tourism mecca of Nepal, is a lakeside town blessed by the matchless beauty of the Himalaya. Pokhara will have you mesmerized with its majestic sight of snow-capped mountain peaks and exquisite beauty. You will visit some of the popular landmarks of Pokhara like Devis waterfall, Seti gorge, Bindabasini temple, Guptseshowor Cave etc.
Once again following the mid hill highway, you will return back to Kathmandu for a well deserved rest at your hotel.
